Gunpowder, treason and plot

Remember, remember, the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot...

This year, we went to a proper, organised firework display. We've not been to one before, not as adults anyway. We chose the display at Newbury Racecourse, as it was close and we had several personal recommendations.

I got the chance to play with the fireworks setting of my camera, and got some spectacular shots!

  2. Amazing shots!  I've yet to have a go at photographing fireworks, mainly because I can't be bothered to go and stand in a cold garden or field.  I'm kind of lazy like that!  Your photos are making me rethink next year's activities though.

  3. Thanks! My camera has a "fireworks" setting which meant I didn't really have to worry about all the correct settings. I was impressed by how they turned out.

  4. This was my first real attempt at shooting fireworks, I'm impressed with how it went. No tripod, either, which is why some of the shots are a little wobbly! I think in total I shot about 170 frames, of which, 64 were "good" enough to go on Flickr. I am suffering a little today from all the standing around though! You might have better luck if you take your scooter :)

  7. the blue one? I think I moved the camera when I took that shot, so in theory it should have been awful, but actually, I think it works!

  8. Great photos, I think my favourite is the 3rd one, I've always loved those types of fireworks :) Love the fact that your camera actually has a fireworks setting!

  9. I could use the scooter for stabilisation! If it hadn't got a blinking puncture this morning GRRRRRR. At the bottom of the hill - DOUBLE GRRRRR! That costs about £40 to get fixed and I'll be stranded for days. So annoying!

  10. As I stood in the park on Saturday I tried a few test shots with my camera and moaned to MrMooncalf how badly they were coming out. "Shame it doesn't have a Fireworks settings" he said. I looked. It did. Problem solved :)
